Staying Thankful

When you are seeking a sweet and private time with the Lord, the best “process” to follow is to do what the scriptures tell us. Psalm 95:2 tells us to come before His presence with thanksgiving and to make joyful noise to Him with songs. Psalm 100:4 says to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise; and to be thankful to Him and bless His name. Let’s break it down:
  • Tell Him what you’re thankful for.
  • Have a joyful and happy attitude.
  • Sing to Him.
  • Praise Him by telling Him how great He is.
  • Bless His name.
I have a lot in my life to be thankful for and I remind God quite often of how grateful I am for the things He has given me and the things He has done for me. What about you? What are you thankful for in your life? Tell Him. If you can’t think of anything, start at the bottom of the list and work your way up. Start with blessing His name. Who is His name? (That’s right, Who, not what!) His Name, the Name above all names is Jesus! Bless God for sending His only begotten Son to die on Calvary’s cross for YOU. He shed His blood so that your sins could be forgiven and that you could walk in righteousness all the days of your life and live in eternity with the Father. How can you not get excited about that? How can you not be thankful for His blood? Who wouldn't feel like singing and making joyful noise?

Thank you, Lord, for the great sacrifice You made for us. I am so thankful and so grateful for Jesus and His shed blood. What better way to enter the Father’s presence?
